COVID-19 Update

As we come out of the holiday season, we are seeing an extremely high number of COVID-19 cases locally. That means we are also seeing delays in COVID-19 test results, not enough COVID-19 tests for those who want or need one, and many, many questions. Here are a few updates that might help answer concerns or questions you might have right now while our Care Teams work to keep up with phone calls:

  • If you are waiting on a COVID-19 test result, please do not call and ask about it. A Care Team member will let you know as soon as your results are in. While you are waiting for your results, please wear a mask and stay away from others as much as possible. If you have a patient portal account, results and guidance will be sent there as soon as they are available. Your patient portal is the fastest way to get test results.
  • If you have an isolation or quarantine question, we are recommending that all vaccinated and unvaccinated patients who test positive for COVID-19 isolate for 10 days starting from the day symptoms began, unless your provider has talked to you about a different plan. If you have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 and you are not vaccinated or are due for your booster, we are recommending that you quarantine for 5 days starting from the day you were exposed.
  • If you think you want or need to be tested for COVID-19, please know that right now we are only scheduling COVID-19 test appointments for Union Community Care patients who have symptoms of COVID-19. We are not able to schedule COVID-19 tests for anyone who is not a patient of Union Community Care, anyone who has been exposed to COVID-19 but does not have symptoms, return to work, return to school, or travel.
  • If you want a COVID-19 vaccine/booster, we are vaccinating all children (5+), teens, and adults – even if you are not a patient. Moderna, Pfizer, or Johnson & Johnson vaccines are available for first, second, third, or booster doses, depending on your health needs.
